Helping older adults overcome holiday sadness

The holiday season might be called "the most wonderful time of the year," but for many older adults, the holidays can bring feelings of loneliness or sadness. They may be reminded of loved ones or holiday traditions that they have lost. The American Medical Resource Institute has put together a resource for older adults and their caregivers to help them overcome sadness they may feel during the holiday season. This resource includes signs that you or a loved one might be experiencing sadness during the holidays, a checklist of triggers for holiday sadness, and some ways that older adults and their loved ones can have fun during the holidays.
